when i type --> w  only me at the box.
but when i type who or finger
it will have another root users in my box..
then i ps -aux |grep tty00 <-the root which showing in the finger
it dont have any..
is it my box give ppl hack ???

in my linux got one user is Bl5it so the email address is Bl5it@xxx.com
it can sendmail but canot sendmail.
when i sendmail that time the error showing error
... User unknown ..
i using redhat 8.0
sendmail-8.12.5-7

any one face this problem before ??

test    pts/0   x.x.x.x.    Sat 4pm  3:15m  0.08s  0.08s  -bash
test    pts/6    x.x.x.x.x.    11:37am  6:29   0.04s  0.04s  -bash
root     pts/10   x.x.x.x.x    11:09am  0.00s  0.10s  0.00s  w

so when i login that time the tty pts/ it wont follow 0~10
it will skip pts/1 pts/2 pts/3 pts/4 pts/5  ..

i means is first user login is Pts/0
second user login is pts/6 <--is it got problem ???
third user login is  pts/10
4 user login is pts/11

i just install Rehat8.0 but i didnt install sendmail.
so now i manually install sendmaiil rpm
sendmail-doc-8.12.5-7
sendmail-cf-8.12.5-7
sendmail-devel-8.12.5-7

i can received mail from other people to my box
but i cannot sendmail from my linux box to internet..

and even i in telnet mail users <--this it also didnt received.

if i telnet mybox 25 <--it can sendmail to my users..
get what i means???
 
/var/spool/clientmqueue <--what is this ? because it alwasy queue in here..

i have setup the virtual ip in the machine..and also the virtual ip..
so when i send mail it got showing this error..
any ideal ???
or did i miss out some setting in sendmail ???

just asking.. in the firewall rule is it i have to open
allow any ppl query port 53 tcp and udp ? is it necessary ??


what else i have to care in setting ipfw ??

and qmail is better than sendmail
how about your ideal??????


i have FreeBSD4.5-release. if i want uninstall sendmail
and install qmail. got any url step to let me see??

i using my linux to running nmap program to scan my FreeBsd Box
and in my freebsd box console it showing this message.

is it we can trace the ip who try to scan the port in the freebsd ??

i have set new ip in /etc/rc.conf
is it got anyway restart the network device without reboot?
because if i wan to see the new ip i have to reboot the freebsd
then only can take effect.
and i have try  ifconfig device down  and up again
also same..
is it got anyway like redhat can use
network restart <--

i want do a shell script connect to mysql to get some information on the user. and write it to the user /home/xxx/.test

e.g
in mysql got keep track all the users information like home address,telphone number,
so how do i writing a script connect to mysql get this kind of information and write to a file in each user /home/xxx/.test so then when each user login that time it can show the detail .test in their motd.

my pc got Win98 ,redhat 7.0
i use disket to boot to my linux box.
so when i wan to install FreeBSD.
how i going to install it like linux.
use disket to boot to my freebsd.??
i didnt find to create the disket tools also..
so is it the only choice is install the bootmanager
which provide by freebsd??
got other choice ?????????

and when i from other pc ping to linux server is fast.
but when i from linux server to ping out is very slow..
even i ping own virtual ip also very slow...but
ping to the router ip is fast..
